The annual Perth Apprenticeship Job Fair will be held on Wednesday 13 March 2024. There will be a range of businesses and organisations in attendance from a wide range of industries.

If your child is currently in S4, S5 or S6 and wishes to attend to gain more information about Foundation Apprenticeships, Modern Apprenticeships and Graduate Apprenticeships they should speak to Mrs Sandilands or Miss Montgomery to book a place.

GIRLS IN GAMING

WHO - Girls in Dundee and surrounding areas aged 16-20yrs (who are currently not actively engaging in any employment, education, or training)

WHEN – Starts 26th Feb 2024 and runs for 5 weeks (3 days a week – Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays 10-3pm)

WHERE – Showcase the Street Tech Hub & Dundee and Angus College Gardyne Campus

The course runs for 5 weeks and covers the below topics:

 

Week 1 – Introduction to sector and career options with Showcase the Street and Kenny Fee Senior Lecturer at Abertay University.

Week 2 – Digital Design skills with Dundee and Angus College

This will introduce learners to a range of digital and creative skills looking at creating an esports team logo, merchandise design, games character design and animation.  

Week 3 – Develop a Website from Scratch with Dundee and Angus College

Learners will develop their own esports team website from scratch using coding and design skills that can be applied to a range of digital careers. 

Week 4 – Esports Media and Broadcasting with Dundee and Angus College

Learners will be introduced to our new Esports Studios in Gardyne Campus and gain skills in video production, broadcasting, and streaming. Learners will create their own promotional video and podcast whilst learning a range of digital and communication skills.  

Week 5 – Support to move onto next steps, growth mindset sessions and mentorship opportunity with Kenny Fee Senior Lecturer at Abertay University.
