Nursery

Playing with legoOur nursery provides meaningful play experiences for children aged 2–5. Key staff work together to ensure all our children continue to develop their learning from home to nursery, and onto school. Our philosophy of learning through play values children as partners in learning; the children actively plan, shape and direct their own learning.

Through play, the children develop skills in literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing. Children have the opportunity to share time together and learn about themselves and other people.

Learning in our nursery is fun and challenging. The children are supported and encouraged by experienced staff who understand how children develop. Parents are involved in their child’s learning and take part in ‘Stay ‘n’ Play’ and ‘Nibble ‘n’ Natter’ sessions.

The children make great use of the nursery space including our outdoor learning area, and have opportunities to use campus facilities like the dance studio and library. They also have the chance to explore the local environment, including our local community garden, and learn about the natural world through planting and exploring our own bug hotel.
